A new world has been discovered it is called social media. Just like Earth is divided into countries it is divided into various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter, Snapchat, link din and so many more and it is still being discovered and is progressing massively. It has built its community of 3.6 billion individuals in 2020, with that figure expected to rise to about 4.41 billion by 2025. The youth and teens are the most enthusiastic users of these social media sites. These social media platforms have a significant influence on the morality, conduct, and even education of our youth in society.

The social media community has both negative and positive effects and its causes on individuals. It helps to bridge the distance between each other. For instance, if a person moves to another city for any reason these social media sites help keep him in touch with his friends and family.

These social media platforms have also been a great help in the economic and educational sector where we can find jobs and acquire new or improve our skills. Time spent on social media might be well spent on things that help you make money or get an education, such as using online courses and research tools. However, while social media sites appear to link more people and stay updated, they also induce social isolation among youngsters since they spend the bulk of their time on these online social networks, limiting the number of individuals they can interact with.

Today social media is a great power. It is a voice for many people where people can come up and address their issues on any ground and any news is just one share away from being heard or being viral because of which the perspective of people is changing they are getting more educated of their rights and the oppressed are raising their voices against their oppressors. Whereas, as social media is great power in a positive attribute it also could encourage the transmission of false information and news, primarily to tarnish the identities of others or other groups of interest, such as political or religious organizations. As a result, there are clashes and hatred between the persons involved leading to a great massacre.

We cannot blame social media for being toxic because we are the ones making the wrong use out of it. No place is toxic or safe on its own it is made by people in it and eventually those individuals themselves are affected negatively or positively by outcomes of their doings. It comes with both negative and positive effects but you have to choose it for yourself.
